The fold lines with a- are mountain fold line and the fold lines like this.- are the valley fold lines, mountain fold / and valley fold will be like this /. You cut the solid line and you basically match the numbers together and you can either use superglue or tape to put it together with. On the type of paper I would suggest using would be the 110 weight cardstock paper as it will hold up to resining better than standard copy paper. The files below with the 155 beside the files are files which will have less fold lines to them and are for the new people to this kind of thing as for the above Clone trooper file at the 1st post please ignore it and use the Clone file below this preferably the 155 which will be easier to assemble, below this. Are we supposed to use these to draw them onto paper, or is there a special way that they can be printed?I've never worked with paprika before, so I'm not really sure where to begin. Are they supposed to print individual sheets?Vagabond Joined: 21 Jun 2009Posts: 21Medals: NonePosted: Tue Jul 28, 2009 3:27 am Post subject:Ok sorry I got you confused I will try to simplify, What you need to start with is a computer printer, 110 weight white cardstock paper which you can find at walmart, an exacto knife and tape or superglue and finally the most important part the Pepakura VIewer program which is free just about wherever you search for it. OK now that you have everything ready you open one of the pep files with the viewer program then at the top of the program you will click File and one of the printer setting that will change it from Letter to A4 on the paper format. Once you have done this you can insert the cardstock paper into the printer and tell the viewer to print out the pages that you see to the right of the 3d model.

It's a good thing I've got access to PCs at work.A step-by-step tutorial is here:And if you Google 'pepakura costume' or 'pepakura armor', you'll find plenty of other how-to information.I've been aware of this sort of thing for a while, but I haven't done much about it. I do have Pepakura Viewer installed on one of my work PCs - so far, that's about it.- Thomas G.

Just go to the 'Armor Creation' forum and then to the 'Pepakura and Cardboard Armor' to find the info you want.If you've downloaded the pepakura files here, and don't know what to do with them, then read through this tutorial: That will teach you a little about the program itself and what all the lines and things mean, as well as how to print the files. Any who on with some photos.-ChrisVagabond Joined: 21 Jun 2009Posts: 21Medals: NonePosted: Thu Jul 30, 2009 1:42 am Post subject:Oh sweet jesus, I did'nt think I scaled it that big but man was I off when I scaled it well there is a plus side to this if you go to the Tamasoft website you can download and use the Pepakura Designer and I would heavily recommend downsizing it a few times to fix that problem, had I known it would turn out that big I would have fixed it a long time ago. There is another plus side to this if you get a white jumpsuit the helmet will be good for one of those Spaceballs guys. I will try and see if I can fix what is wrong and put up a correct link to the correct size helmet soon.The Death Star is getting closer. Yeah the designer software is much niftier than the viewer is.
The whole assembly is pretty quick going, the only part I'd be sad about refolding again is up near the Mohawk area, just cause there is a lot going on up in that area. The trick with the paper file is after you build it you can move the left side of the front of the box to the right side to make it accurate. The actual size Helmet will be on the site within a week for downloads to resume on it but until then after the accident I have seen I made with Chris making his helmet I will recomend nobody prints the helmet but the box and leg pack in the collection is still OK to make. Sorry for any inconvience.@Chris, well there is an upside to the oversized helmet you can take it to cons with you and be able to tell off other pilots about who's helmet is bigger.The Death Star is getting closer. And Leia is getting larger.WanderingRaccoon (Casey)Joined: 28 May 2009Posts: 7Medals: NonePosted: Thu Jul 30, 2009 4:13 am Post subject:The x-wing pilot file should still be fine, so long as people re-scale it before printing.To change the scale in Pepakura Designer:Open the program, and then open the x-wing helmet file.
At the top of the window, go to '2DPatternWindow' to 'Change the Scale of Development' to 'Specify the Scale.' That should open a new window titled 'Change Pattern Size' In this window it should have boxes for Height, Width, and Depth, as well as a box for 'Scale.'
Unfortunatly, because this program was japanese-made, it's going to list these dimensions in Milimeters instead of inches. However, any online search engine should quickly locate you a site that can convert between these two measurments.The default size of the x-wing helmet is 405 mm tall (nearly 16in).
I don't know about you guys, but my head is only around 8 in tall. Giving an extra three inches for the helmet to fit around my head (you may want more if you've a lot of hair to pile up under the helmet), I think I'd want a helmet to be about 11 inches tall. That equals about 280 mm. Plug that number into the box for height, and you'll notice the program will automatically correct the width and depth to remain proportional. (you can convert the new numbers for width and depth back into inches and check to see if they seem like a good fit for you, if you want to double check) Hit 'OK'Do notice: when you change scale, it changes the size of the pieces to be printed. This means you'll now need to re-arrange the pieces in the 2D window so that they will continue to fit on the pages. Otherwise a single piece will print partially on different pages.
Which isn't good. Just drag the pieces with your mouse to make them all fit on the pages again. Then you're ready to print.I haven't started assembling my helmet yet (only because I haven't finished the rest of the costume yet), but the above is what I was planning to do when I got to the helmet.
