Autodesk Sketchbook Copic Edition Project

Posted on  by  admin

The program keeps crashing randomly while using it; not when I open any particular file or use any particular settings, just while I'm drawing or working anywhere within the program. Everything I'm using is stock and came with Sketchbook; I haven't downloaded any add-ons or brushes or anything that might corrupt it. This is immensely frustrating as I'm trying to work and it must have crashed 6 or 7 times in the past hour.

I'm in the current edition of Windows 10, and I am running Sketchbook 8.6.0. I'm using windows 10 and my OS just updated a day or two ago.

Sketchbook For Copics

I uninstalled and re-installed Sketchbook though it keeps crashing. Often it seems it's crashing while I'm doing a transform operation. Trying to adjust proportions on an old drawing.

There hasn't been any error message or warning before it shuts down. It just goes away. When I re-open sketchbook the image is still up though whatever I was doing right before the crash is gone. I've had to re-start 3 times now and I don't want to start again because I'm tired of making effort and it being undone.Hopefully I can find a fix soon.I forgot to mention I'm using wacom Intuos Pro 2017 model. I'm having the same issue, and it's surprising to me to see the problem going all the way back to 2018 and I do not see it fixed! This has just started happening to me, starting a few days ago. I open the program, and it's random if it crashes.

No message, just closes. I might draw a line or two, then it crashes. Or it might happen when I'm an hour in working. I had tried re-installing it, but the crashes kept happening.

I'm currently using a Huion Graphics Tablet. And even though I've used this program for 2 years, the crashes had only started a few days ago. I'll try to re-install my drawing tablet program and will report back if this fixes the issue.EDIT- I took the disc out for Huion and put it back in. I then re-installed my tablet drive again and after it was done I opened Autodesk Sketchbook and did a few tests, and to my surprise, it worked perfectly. The tests I did were using the selection and moving tool, those were fine. And before, the program would crash when I would open a project, so I also tried that and it didn't close on me. I'm going to say again I am using a Huion Graphics Tablet, and not a Wacom so I'm unsure if they have a disc for it or if it will work for those tablets. I apologize if it does not.

I use Sketchbook Pro to do my art, it rocks my socks. I seriously recommend it for anyone using a tablet to draw. A recent update that the Mac version got in the App Store added a Copic marker toolset to it, which was kinda fun to play with. Turns out that they released a Copic version for free also. So anyone on the fence about whether they want Sketchbook or not could try it out (kinda sorta) this way, or if you have a tablet and would like a niceish drawing tool, this is a way to go.

It appears to have some of the normal sketchbook features removed (aka, most of the other drawing tools), but it has pens, erasers, and layers, and that is really all you need for free anyway Links to download in the article below (which is where I saw the news).
