Seagull S6 12 Digit Serial Number

FYI, my 2002 Seagull is labeled as 'S Series' S6. It has an '8 digit + the letter F' serial number on the back of the headstock. I have no idea when they effected the labeling change to S6 Original.
You're certain that the guitar you bought was only a year old?The letter F was (still is?) used by Godin to mark factory seconds. I've seen a couple of 'F' Seagulls with very obvious flaws, but for the most part they are very minor and barely/not noticeable. My '04 S6+ Cedar GT has an 8 digit serial with a F at the end. Got it for a great price at time of purchase but it was not listed as a factory second by the shop. There was a slight finish flaw on the top near the binding which I didn't care about as I loved the guitar (still do) and assumed it was a ding that happened at the store and this accounted for the price reduction.
As it turns out it probably came from the factory that way.
