I had a line 6 a few years ago. It sounded pretty good through my peavey classic at the time. Then I got a fender prosonic and it sounded like mud through that loop. The volume was not right and it lost all high end. I then purchased the Boss and never looked back. The boss has lots of versatility but in all honesty the only delay sound that I like on it is the Tape echo. The digital sounds like your typical boss pedals and the analog is a bit to muffled to my ear.
I won't knock the Line 6 but it would not work with my prosonic amp. I have both on my PB right now. They both have their own good and not-so-good points. If I had to ditch one, I would keep the DD-20. Mainly because of size and advanced programming. The DL-4 does some cool things though.
I programmed a faux phaser setting(sweep echo with 0 delay time, slow sweep, and 50% mix approx.). It works pretty good. I'm probably going to take it off my PB to make room for a couple of more pedals. If Line 6 would make an updated delay unit that is smaller, with improved signal path(more Hi-FI) with the capablities of the DL-4 or better, I believe they would have a winner.
I have both pedals and they both sound very similar to me. Overall, the Line 6 has more delays to choose from. The advantage that the DD-20 has is that it won't break in the middle of a gig The only thing that I don't like about the DD-20 is that you have to scroll thru your settings in order (1-2-3-4) whereas with the DL-4 you are able to chose any of the 3 delays at any time.

I think the tap tempo is a little more accurate with the Boss. Another cool feature of the DD-20 is that you can have the effect bypassed and can set the tap tempo. You can't do that with the DL-4. If I had to pick one it would definitely be the Boss, plus it's cheaper. I have and use both. Here's my take on the two.The DL-4 has more/better sounding/more configurable models, a better looper, realtime expression pedal control of any parameter(s) on each patch (giving you 6 patches with morphing if you use the pedal), dedicated preset and tap tempo buttons, true bypass or buffered/trail mode, and it allows you to tweak the delay time knob in real time for pitch bend effects. It also has a slight volume drop when using true bypass mode, and a bunch of folks have experienced reliabilty issues (knock on wood, several years and hundreds of gigs with no problems here).The DD-20 is a good unit, but it has a few quirks that keep me from raving about it.
In order to tweak the knobs in real time, you first have to move them to where they are stored in each patch. For example, if the feedback knob is physically at noon, and the patch you are using has the feedback set to minimum.
In order to tweak the feedback to full in mid-song you'd have to first move it all the way down, and then all the way up. Not a huge deal, but it means you have to memorize the settings of each knob for all of your presets if you intend to tweak them while playing. You also can't do real-time pitch bend effects by tweaking the delay time knob - it either moves in incriments too small to be noticeable or too big to be smooth. The 2 foot pedals also make navigating through the presets or using the tap tempo feature clumbsy, but with an external footswitch you can compensate for this (although at that point it loses its size advantage over the DL4). The strong points of the DD-20 to me are the longer delay times, and the fact that you can have a long, high feedback delay going, turn the effect off - and you still have control over the feedback, tone, and delay time of the trailing repeats. You can even jump back in and add to it without killing the existing trails.Overall I'd say it depends on your application.

If you need realtime hands-on (or foots-on) control then the DL4 is definitely more advanced and intuitive to use. If you just want a good sounding delay with a few different settings, then the DD-20 may be better for you. Download torrent pc games full version. Personally, I have a use for both.
